Ikhlas Capital is an ASEAN private equity fund manager dedicated to partnering and growing great companies that positively impact the development of the region.

Our founding partners, Nazir Razak, Kenny Kim, Gita Wirjawan and Cesar Purisima, are well-known ASEAN professionals who have spent a combined total of more than 100 years of their careers in the region.

We are headquartered in Singapore where we are licensed and regulated, we also have on-ground presence in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Manila.

Ikhlas Capital was set up by four partners who reached the top of their respective professions in their home ASEAN countries, in the belief that they could leverage their wide-ranging experiences and networks, to build a differentiated private equity platform, one that intermediates excellent investment opportunities with smart capital and impacts the growth and development of ASEAN.

Ikhlas’ founding investors and staff complement are also exclusively ASEAN. Over time, we will diversify our investor base and talents, but Ikhlas will always be deeply rooted as an ASEAN institution.

Integrating ASEAN

ASEAN will continue to be one of the fastest growing regions in the world, due to its favourable demographics, geographic location, quality workforce, relative political stability, rich endowment of natural resources, and high propensity to adopt new technology. If ASEAN were a single entity, the region, with a combined GDP of US$3 trillion, would rank as the 7th largest economy in the world. By 2030, at current growth rates, ASEAN will rank 4th. Home to more than 650 million people, its population is larger than the European Union or North America.

Despite having declared itself as an Economic Community in 2015, economic integration remains nascent, with huge potential for businesses to grow and collaborate across borders. We will be catalysts for ASEAN economic integration for the region to fulfil its true potential.

Creating Value with Sincerity

“Ikhlas” in Bahasa translates as “sincere, honest and without pretence”. The word is in turn derived from Arabic, specifically from the title of the 112th chapter of the Quran, “Al-Ikhlas”, which means “the purity”.

Our choice of name is a statement of intention to always place integrity and governance at the forefront of how we create value. Principles must never be sacrificed for profits. We will apply environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards in our investment decision-making, and embrace corporate responsibility commitments for communities in which we operate.
